The sun motif is very prominent in this work. It includes the chinese ideograph for "sun" at the top of the piece. The glass rests on a temple form base that is inspired by Mayan architecture.

The sun is a very strong influence in our lives. The influence is even stronger now that we are in New Mexico. It is an unrelenting and unforgiving power.
