Materials: Optical glass, white Thassos marble

The first bird we saw in the spring when we were still in Buffalo was the Cardinal. The Cardinal would sit on the highest branch of the tallest tree against the early grayish blue sky.

The center of this piece depicts the chinese ideograph "sun". The sun is still weak and cold in early spring.
