John Healey's Cold Glass methods have been developed over the years with much assistance from our friends in the optical industry. Thank you, friends, for sharing your knowledge with us in such an open manner.
The image below is not of an optical glass method. This photo was taken as a jest, in reference to the "stone age" techniques that some optical glass fabricators accused some artists of using. Please click on the following links for information on the various processes we use in John Healey's work.

These following processes will be used in many different ways during the creation of a glass sculpture. It is the subtle way in these methods are combined that makes glass work transcend technique to become art.

Advanced cold glass techniques are a very recent addition to the art world. The technology and equipment were not available to artists until the last couple of decades. Even today there are no school programs that teach more than the most rudimentary levels of cold glass technique. Therefore there are very few artists in the United States that use cold glass successfully as a medium.
We hope that through our opening of our studio and revealing our processes to raise interest in these methods and to encourage more art programs to raise the level of their cold glass facilities. It would be disappointing to see the methods we have taken decades to develop become lost after we are done.
